Overview
Delve Recruitment are currently working with an innovative and well-established engineering business within the wastewater sector who are looking to add an Analytical Chemist to the team in Cheshire due to internal progression.
The Role
Reporting into the Lab Manager and working close with, day to day you will be responsible for carrying out treat-ability trials and analysing samples in the Lab. You will receive internal training on what they do and their processes but moving forwards there will also be some flexibility and freedom for the development of new methods as well – they encourage new ideas.
Daily duties will involve:
As an Analytical Chemist, the company offer a competitive salary dependant on skills and experience plus package including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, 5% + 3% pension, subsidised gym membership on site, legal aid, death in service x 4, on site canteen. Due to the nature of the role, a higher proportion of your work requires you to be hands on at the site, however there can be some working from home flexibility for the report writing side of the role.

The Role

- Analysing the samples
- Maintaining the instruments
- Quality Control
- Treat-ability trials
- Keeping the Lab in a good working order and adhering to Health and Safety
- Proactive involvement within the business
- Must have a Chemistry Degree, or related subject
- Ideally have some lab experience post-graduation
- Practical experience with analysing samples
- Familiar with analytical instruments (GC/MS, GC/FID, LC/MS) including the maintenance and preparation of them
- Good IT skills in relation to the results reporting, Excel
