Introduction to Noscendo

Noscendo are a startup company with locations in Duisburg and Reutlingen Germany. They have designed and developed a bespoke pathogen test that helps diagnose and forecast patient illness prior to visible symptoms being displayed. They also offer genomic sequencing of the patient samples that gives rapid and accurate results. Following successful growth since they were founded in 2017, Noscendo is now the leading global provider of software-based pathogen identification technology.

Why did they
need Delve?

As a start-up company Noscendo didn’t have immediate brand recognition in the market. It was also critical that their initial hires were the right calibre and cultural fit for the company. They needed Delve to conduct several searches for a variety of senior, executive and technical level positions throughout Germany & France.

The Delve solution

Delve conducted a complete market search for all of the positions. This involved identifying local and national talent who met the technical criteria for the roles, but who also had a motivational interest to join a start-up company. From there we conducted initial screenings, in-depth technical interviews and presentation of shortlisted candidates back to Noscendo.

As Noscendo did not have a HR department, Delve managed the whole interview process, conducting interview briefs, feedback collection and contract negotiation on behalf of both parties.

Knowing our clients

In order to fully understand Noscendo’s requirements and culture, our intiail meeting took place in their Duisburg office, this allowed us to truly understand what it means to be a Noscendo person. Our experience tells us that marrying this understanding with the candidate makes for an increased likelihood of success in the search process.

Identifying the candidate

The priority was to understand what Noscendo needed and why it was necessary. From there we were able to consult on the brief and challenge things that we thought could stop or significantly slow down the hiring process. Once we understood their needs we were able to conduct detailed research in to who may be suitable and then start initial outreach to those people. Once we had engagement we presented the Noscendo value proposition and conducted first stage interviews on Noscendo’s behalf; presenting back the three most suitable options.

We discussed each candidate with regards to their motivations and aspirations to make sure the fit was right and that they were considering the position for the right reasons This approach proactively prevents situations such as rejected offers and counteroffers. We worked closely with Noscendo to review the profiles and from here we consulted on interview strategy, feedback, offer process and salary negotiations in order to ensure all stages were successful, and that all parties were communicated with and satisfied.

The ultimate measure of success can be said to be a process which results in a successful hire. Using our search solution we were able to provide a suitable candidate for the role within the agreed timeframe.

Delve were able to support Noscendo in hiring a variety of critical positions. These roles included a VP of HR, Director of R&D, Applications Scientist, Linux Specialist and an Automation Specialist. As a direct result of the success of the hires, Delve was engaged to recruit for other roles at Noscendo.
