Introduction to Cygnet Texkimp

Founded in 1974, Cygnet Texkimp is a family-owned manufacturer of technical automated process machinery supplied into a variety of sectors including textiles, composites, automotive and aerospace. They are an export led business and 95% of their customers are International, they manufacture and assemble on site in the UK.

They are an SME size business which is going through significant growth and they have a very clear identity and culture.

Why did they
need Delve?

As Cygnet are growing, they have required roles across multiple departments who fit into their culture. They recognise that attracting and engaging talent is extremely competitive so wanted a proactive approach. They needed to add local engineering talent as well as international sales positions and as we know the company well, we understand what will fit a ‘Cygnet person’.

The Delve solution

At the start of the search project, we arranged a time to go to the site to understand the requirements of the positions and meet the hiring manager in person to get the important information beyond the job specification. For us this process is all about consultancy and giving the customer the best advice to make informed decisions on the best approach for each hire. We set up regular review/steering calls designed to capture issues and solve problems quickly

We have a longstanding relationship with Cygnet and know the business and people well. We have always committed time to understand what’s happening in the business and the challenges they have that we can support with. Over time really understanding the culture and what a “Cygnet” person is has sped up the process and eliminated poor hiring decisions.

Identifying the candidate

After compiling a longlist of active and passive candidates, we narrowed that down to a shortlist through an initial screening call and then a follow up interview to get further detail including aspirations and motivations. This was presented to the hiring manager with a cover sheet overviewing the information that had been discussed pointing out the key relevance and information such as salary expectation, location information and interview availability. We always aim to be trusted advisors, saving the decision makers time in reviewing endless CV’s. We work on a recommendation basis which if focused on the behavioural fit first and foremost.

We have successfully placed across various departments including the following roles – Senior Engineering Buyer, Head of Finance, Sales Director, Operations Director, International Sales Manager, Mechanical Design, Customer Service Advisor, Mechanical and Electrical Installation.

Due to this, we currently have 5 search projects in process with Cygnet, which are all brand new roles to the structure within QHSE, two within R&D, Electrical Design and Project Engineering.
