Singleron case study

Introduction to Singleron

Singleron were established in Germany in 2020 and are rapidly expanding business with over 400 people employed worldwide. They have facilities in Cologne, Germany, Nanjing and Suzhou, China and New Haven, USA.

Based on the microfluidic patent technology exclusively authorized by Yale University, Singleron independently developed a portfolio of high-quality single-cell sequencing products. They sell innovative instruments and services for single cell sequencing and are a total solutions provider.

Why did they
need Delve?

Singleron were expanding in to the European market and had opened up a GmbH in
Köln. They had ambitious hiring plans with urgent requirements to hire people in sales and engineering at their new research and development facility.

Although well know to specialists, they had little presence or reputation in the area, and as a result found recruiting suitable candidates a challenge. In addition, they struggled to attract quality candidates.

Singleton engaged Delve’s services to complete various search assignments, pro- actively approaching people on a local and international basis who would not only be able to bring the required skills but were also the right fit for their business.

The Delve solution

Before beginning any search project, Delve will always arrange a kick-off meeting with the hiring manager and all decision makers involved in the process, in order to understand the brief and to offer advice on realistic hiring plans, who they can target and salary expectations.

Regular contact was maintained with the decision makers and HR throughout the recruitment process ensuring that we provided feedback on any challenges and made recommendations to enhance capability. This clear and consistent approach helped to establish good relationships with the CEO and management team.

Knowing our clients

Our approach enabled us to gain an understanding of the type of candidates that would be a perfect fit for the roles because we had committed the time to fully understand both the brief and Singleron’s business culture.

For each role we devised a candidate search campaign including where to search and what profiles could fit. We also worked with Singleron on the approach strategy to ensure that the candidate experience was positive and the opportunities with Singleron were sold to the candidates in a clear and positive way.

Identifying the candidate

Our search campaign focused
on identifying and approaching candidates with relevant technical skills and experience working with similar or transferable technology. We approached a large number of candidates for each position to maximise talent pool.

We then interviewed and short-listed candidates that met the agreed criteria, focussing on the candidates fit to Singleron, as they were looking for dynamic personalities who could work in a fast growing and changing environment.

We presented our short-list to Singleron along with a detailed cover sheet outlining our interview findings including why they fit, potential concerns and salary requirements.

Results and ongoing success

Customer feedback is important to us, we measure our success by:

  • Completion rate

  • Client feedback

  • Repeat business

The ultimate measure of success can be said to be a process which results in a successful hire.

Our initial focus was on Singleron’s commercial roles, in Germany and
the Nordic Region. We successfully completed four search assignments for sales roles which has in-turn enabled

Singleron to be able to move towards their sales goals.

As a direct result of the success of this project, Delve was engaged to recruit for other roles at Singleron.
